Who am I?
I'm a Software Developer. I'm now serving as the IT Director for Johnson Sterling Paul Benefits, Inc.. I grew up in Birmingham, AL and graduated from UAB in 1993. Since then, I've worked on a number of software/web projects.
Formerly, I've worked at Blue Cross Blue Shield of South Carolina as a contractor - developing Enterprise applications with Java/J2EE. Lots of the work at BCBSSC involved integrating apps with a document managment product called DocFinity.
Prior to that, I worked at Uniprise Technologies (a UnitedHealth Group company) as a Senior Application Developet where I created web applications and also built web services with a product called WMQI. It's a messaging/transformation tool from IBM. It's part of the WebSphere suite of products.
Previously, I worked as a Consultant for Information Management Consultants in Columbia, SC. We delivered PDM (Product Data Management) solutions to Manufacturing companies and Engineering firms. Most of my work was with a product called WorkManager and with ME10 (HP's 2D CAD product). I also managed the network, HP-UX systems, and the Oracle databases.
Even before that, I worked for ACIPCO (American Cast Iron Pipe Company) in Birmingham, AL. I started off on the mainframe (IBM 370) and moved to the AS/400 - then I started working on client-server technology on HP-UX - and helped to integrate CAD software with an order entry/product configuration system.
